  • Plant Description -  Produces edible spring stalks, and edible flower bulbs year after year. Grows in dry to moist, well-drained soil and full to part sun. Grows up to 6' tall. Harvest the flowers before they open, remove the peels (which are inedible), and add to a stir-fry. Other great rhubarb uses include rhubarb ketchup and BBQ sauce. The rhubarb plant's massive leaves help to suppress grasses and sun-loving weeds. It can be planted on the corner or edges of gardens to help keep out weeds. It's extremely deep tap roots pull up nutrients and minerals into the leaves, which are released back to the soil when the leaves decay.
