Where & When to purchase?

On-line 

The plants that over-winter wake up naturally with the outdoor weather. They are not in a greenhouse. The online inventory will be updated March 4 but the first pick-up date is Saturday, May 16.  Plants typically emerge in their pots by mid-May, but this is up to nature itself. 

Plants that tend to emerge later than this include Swamp Hibiscus (Hibiscus moscheutos), Showy Tick-trefoil (Desmodium canadense), New York Ironweed ( Vernonia noveboracensis), Butterfly Milkweed (Asclepias tuberosa). These plants may not start emerging until June, and therefore they will not be available for purchase until June. 

2026 Plant Sales at By The Bluffs 

• Saturday May 16 and Sunday May 17, 2026, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
• Access to nursery is via driveway to the house.
• In-person nursery visits to purchase plants can also be made by appointment.
• On-line purchases available anytime. Refer to pick-up details here.

Durham Herb Sale                           

• DATE TO BE DETERMINED   9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
• Riverside Park, Queen Street South, Durham, West Grey  
• Order online and have it delivered to this event! This ensures you get what you want, as I often sell out at the Herb Sale. Be sure to make a note within your order to let me know. Orders must be submitted and paid for through the website by Wednesday June 11 at midnight. Minimum order $50.
