Where & When to purchase?

On-line 

The plants that over-winter wake up naturally with the outdoor weather. They are not in a greenhouse. The online inventory will be updated March 4 but first pick-up date is Saturday May 17.  Plants typically emerge in their pots by mid-May, I anticipate it being later this year with the snow load we received. So this first pick-up date might be delayed.

Plants that tend to emerge later than this include Swamp Hibiscus (Hibiscus moscheutos), Showy Tick-trefoil (Desmodium canadense), New York Ironweed ( Vernonia noveboracensis), Butterfly Milkweed (Asclepias tuberosa). These plants may not start emerging until June, and therefore they will not be available for purchase until June. 

The first pick-up date at By The Bluffs will be Saturday, May 17, 2025. 

2025 Plant Sales at By The Bluffs 

• Saturday May 17 and 24, 2025  10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
• Access to nursery is via driveway to the house.
• In-person nursery visits to purchase plants can also be made by appointment.
• On-line purchases available anytime. Refer to pick-up details here.

Durham Herb Sale                           

• Saturday, June 14, 2025   9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
• Riverside Park, Queen Street South, Durham, West Grey  
• Order online and have it delivered to this event! This ensures you get what you want, as I often sell out at the Herb Sale. Be sure to make a note within your order to let me know. Orders must be submitted and paid for through the website by Wednesday June 11 at midnight. Minimum order $50.
