- Plant Description - This fruit tree requires well-drained soil and full sun. This tree is not a grafted tree, but it grown from seed from local cold-hardy peach trees. These are bare root trees, to be planted while they are dormant. Suited for zones 5 to 6.
- Pollination - Self-fertile. This means that only one tree is needed to produce fruit, but planting a second tree increases yield per tree.
- Seedling Sizes - less than 24" tall; between 24" and 36"; greater than 48" tall.
- Pick-Up Details -
- Tree must near dormancy before they are dug up. Typically the pick-up is mid-November. To prepare for your trees, dig and loosen the soil in the hole, and then cover the hole with a thick layer of leaf litter/straw to prevent the soil from freezing and then a large piece of plywood to keep the snow off. If you get snow it is then easy to move the plywood, so you can easily plant the seedling.
