- Scientific Name - Amelanchier laevis
- Plant Description - White spring flowers that grow in moist to dry soil and full to part sun. Grows 9' to 16' tall. This understory tree is edible, medicinal. Attracts butterflies and beneficial insects, birds, and mammals. Striking fall leaf colours. Great for pond edges/wetland gardens, hedgerow/thicket/windbreak, woodland gardens. Self-pollinating, but the fruit set will be heavier with 2 trees.
