- Scientific Name - Baptisia australis
- Plant Description - Late spring, early summer flowers that grow in moist to dry, drought tolerant soil and full to part sun. Grows up to 3-4' tall. This plant is medicinal and is a nitrogen fixer. It attracts butterflies and beneficial insects, and is rabbit tolerant. Attractive charcoal black seed pods.
- Not native to the Saugeen Bruce Peninsula, Grey County nor Bruce County, but native to other regions in Ontario.
