  • Plant Description - This is a cross between our native American hazelnut and European blight resistant varieties. It grows in well-drained soil and full sun to full shade. Grows up to 10-14' tall, with a similar spread. This shrub produces delicious, edible nuts. Suitable for zones 4a to 7.
  • Pollination - Two or more trees are needed for cross pollination to provide nuts. Space about 12' to 15' apart. A study in Oregon has shown that the maximum distance pollen will reach trees for maximum pollinizing is 60' (18 m). Because these are seedlings, and are each genetically different, cross pollination is not guaranteed.
