Plant Description - This is a cross between our native American hazelnut and European blight resistant varieties. It grows in well-drained soil and full sun to full shade. Grows up to 10-14' tall, with a similar spread. This shrub produces delicious, edible nuts. Suitable for zones 4a to 7.
Pollination - Two or more trees are needed for cross pollination to provide nuts. Space about 12' to 15' apart. A study in Oregon has shown that the maximum distance pollen will reach trees for maximum pollinizing is 60' (18 m).
Available Size - 1 year old bare root seedlings are approximately 12" to 36" tall
Pick-Up Details-
"Pick-up Late Autumn" - Seedlings must drop most of their leaves prior to transplanting. This is weather dependent. Pick-up is typically a Saturday in late November. You will be notified within one to two weeks before this pick-up date.
