- Plant Description - Fall flowers. Grows in a range of soils and will tolerate clay. Prefers wet to moist soil, and full sun to part shade but will tolerate dry soils, and is drought tolerant. Grows 2-4 feet. This plant has edible flowers. Attracts birds, insects, butterflies, and is an important nectar source for migrating monarch butterflies. Rabbit tolerant.
